The Sydney Rose is winning praise for speaking out on Repeal The 8th
SYDNEY ROSE BRIANNA Parkins is winning praise on social media after she called for a referendum to repeal the eighth amendment during the Rose of Tralee this evening.
Parkins, who works as a journalist with ABC in Australia, spoke about a range of women’s issues during her onstage piece, including cuts to domestic violence charities.
And then she told Dáithí, “I think it’s time to give women a say over their reproductive rights,” and called on Ireland to hold a referendum to repeal the eighth amendment.
Parkins’ call to arms was warmly welcomed by viewers, who praised her for using her platform to speak out on the issue.
